Mirame

Here's the video to a song I just downloaded recently and have been playing a lot in the past couple of days. It's a big hit here, especially in the gay/drag scene. Once again, I think it's very telling about the culture. The singer is a Mexxican Amer1can woman who according to W1k1ped1a, had charges files against her husband for sexually abusing their 2 daughters and her younger sister. The song I downloaded has an Intro where she's talking about protecting her family; this video/song is somewhat auto-biographical.

I'm learning the lyrics and it's kind of fun to belt out "Mirame! No soy la misma de antes!" (Look at me. I'm not the same as I was before.) It's a very powerful song.
