Sooooooul Train!

It's after 2am on Sat night and I think I'm experiencing the highlight of my trip so far: A Best of Soul Train episode from the 80s. Such a flashback!!

Here are some things I'm seeing:

Fades and flat tops
Jherri curls
Big hair (including perms and crimping)
Skinny ties (including bolero ties)
Wide belts (sometimes vinyl with a big round buckle or high waisted and elastic)
Spandex pants
Red vinyl/leather accessories (belts, ties, shoes)
Asymmetrical haircuts
Chunky gold earrings and chunky plastic earrings
Big hoop earrings
Suspenders
Animal prints
Shoulder pads
Suit jackets (sometimes cropped)
Skinny pants
Baggy pleated pants
Leggings (often worn with pumps!)
Gloves
Black Ray Bans
Puffy sleeves
Hair pulled back and teased up high in a sort of faux-hawk
Military-shoulder jackets
Black and white stripes
Zippers on shirts
Form fitting tank dresses a la Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love video
Biker shorts
